Solid Oak, Gerrards Cross

Wide board solid oak with badly applied hard wax oil, giving a dull look to the oak.

We often come across projects where the finishing coat is not applied to it’s full potential. This intern made the oak look very dull with the variation of the oak hidden away.

Stair top railings were also sanded and oiled in the process to match with the solid oak.

What we did:

The solid wide oak was sanded back to it’s raw and original form, we also sanded the stair railings to match the flooring as it would have looked odd if we left it as it was.

Total time and people involved:

Four people involved, 2 days to complete, 1 day sanding process including a coat of hard wax oil, next morning one more coat of hard wax oil.
